These Woven Disc Earrings are hand woven with raffia fibre. Raffia fibre is a 100% natural plant fibre. The Afribeads artisans source and and weave the plant fibre into these beautiful earrings.

AfriBeads are made by a group of 20 women in Kampala, Uganda. The women make the jewellery to support their families, providing a solid income and the flexible work that they need. The women in Kampala run their own enterprise, making their own decisions together as a collective, working with fair trade principles. 

Many millions of people live in extreme poverty in Uganda, Africa, struggling to survive and look after their children. Afribeads has been working with the same group of women for over 10 years, supporting them as they grow their business and support their families.
